National Horse Trials Championships - Aston-le Walls 3rd August
The Junior Horse Trials team of, Morgan Shelley riding Mary, Izzy Harper and Casper, Megan Bates and Turpin and Chloe Allen riding Duffy, gave the Forest of Arden Riders Group a wonderful start to the Junior membership.
All four members did really good dressage in their respective arenas, with Chloe Scoring again in the 20s'. The show jumping was a technical track with all four girls riding brillantly, to jump clear.
The cross country was a true Championship track with questions coming very early on the course, unfortunately both Megan and Chloe had unfortunate run outs early in the course for unlucky 20 penalties, then went on to jump the rest of the course really well. Whilst Morgan and Izzy posted two well ridden clear rounds inside the time. This left the teamin overall 6th place. Izzy went on to be 7th in her arena for an individual place
Lauren Shelley also represented the Forest of Arden Riders Group in the Individual Junior Intermediate Horse Trials competition. Lauren dressage was held whilst the novice cross country was in full swing to which Bob would prefer to be participating in instead of his dressage. A lovely clear show jumping followed, then the cross country unfortunately Lauren also got caught out by an early off set double to incurre 20 penalties. Lauren finished 14th a fantastic result for Laurens championship debut.
A wonderful day was had by everyone that came and supported the juniors, especially with the consumption of a large chocolate cake baked by our own team trainer, Christine Bell-Scott. The best of luck to Chloe, Alex, Megan and Lizzie as they go to Lincoln Show ground for the National Junior Dressage Championships in September.
